Friends of Madison Park, the grassroots effort to form a community association to reconnect the neighborhood, is moving forward with its plans.
More than 80 people met April 24 to share ideas for the association and suggest community events. Friends of Madison Park has two more planning sessions scheduled in May and June. They are from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 30 and June 26 at McGilvra’s Irish Pub, 4234 Madison St. in Madison Park. The events will begin with a reception each evening. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Friends of Madison Park also has a website, https://www.friendsofmadisonpark.com/, for people to learn about upcoming events, the mission, the proposed structure of the new board and how to get involved.
Organizers will also obtain non-profit status for FOMP in the next month and work on next steps to present at the May meeting.
