Newly added planters.

Friends of Madison Park has installed the first 10 planters along the business district as part of their Beautify Madison Park campaign. Landscape services by Cevin and Audrey Jacobson planted them and will be maintaining the palnters going forward . Thanks so much to those who have stepped up to support this first phase of Beautify Madison Park: Bob and Martha Sander, Ewing & Clark, The Jacobsen Building, Michael and Nafessa Hassim, Hillside and 39th E neighbors group, “The Booth” honoring Linda McGill, Erika Nesholm, Michelle Rubin, Sheila Bishop, Cynthia Rodgers, Hai Wu and Kieran McDonald, Gabe Gravning and Anonymous. (Please accept apologies if I have left out anyone).

The goal is to add plantings under the business area trees in the Fall and add 10-12 more containers for both sides of East Madison; the estimated budget for the Fall is $25,000. Friends needs YOUR support on all levels to make this happen. These first planters are a peek at our neighborhood with lush greenery, flowers and beauty year-round. Friends is are also looking for volunteers to help with this project and start the process of applying for a Business Improvement Area partnership with the City of Seattle in 2024/2025. Friends of Madison Park is planning its Fall Fundraiser on Oct. 12 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at the Seattle Tennis Club. Only you can guarantee that the neighborhood is able to provide free events and community projects - such as Music in the Park, Children’s Parade and Picnic, Easter Egg Hunt, Holiday festivities, lighting our street trees, beautifying our community and more. This once-a-year event is our Party for the Park and promises to be fun-filled with a small silent and live auction, raise the paddle, games, cocktails and dancing- all to support our community.
