Friends of Madison Park is on the cusp of introducing flowering containers to the business area of our neighborhood. But it will take the support of many to make it happen.
Phase 1 of Beautify Madison Park will be the installation this spring/summer of (10) 28” x 28” containers along the blocks running from Starbuck’s to McGilvra’s. The containers will be planted with a combination of evergreens and annual color for year-round beauty. Friends of Madison Park will be hiring a maintenance crew to install, water, trim and switch out plantings seasonally as needed.
Phase 2 will happen in the Fall with 10-12 additional 28” x 28” containers, adding new plantings under several of the younger trees in the business district and replacing the raised planter by the Madison Park Pharmacy and Wellness Center.
The cost to purchase these larger containers, plant them and maintain them this first year is estimated at $2000/container. Long range maintenance will be significantly less but a more accurate cost will be available at the end of this first year.
Any and all donation amounts are welcome.
$2,000 donors will have a metal plate mounted on a planting container- with the donor name or in honor of designation. You can also co-sponsor a container with metal plates reflecting that at $1,000/ for a container.
All donors will be acknowledged on a banner/plaque- those details are being finalized. The permit process is in its final stage and should be complete by the time this goes to print.
Friends of Madison Park envisions additional phases to Beautify Madison Park but Phase 1 and 2 is the first step in 2024, coming to you in late May/early June.
